On your sport…

How long have you played? What inspired you to play?

I have been playing basketball since I was 5 years old. I was inspired by watching NBA games with my dad and I wanted to be the best

Where is your favorite place to play?

My favorite place to play is home games at the Resch Center here in Green Bay

What is your favorite number? Why?

My favorite number is 10 because my dad wore the number in high school



Who is the best player you’ve played WITH and AGAINST?

The best player I played with was Dupree Fletcher (Evansville) and against was Greg Oden (NBA-Portland Trail Blazers)

Do you have a pre-game ritual? If so, what is it?

Yes I do, I have a gospel mix I listen to right after pre-game meal. Then I listen to Smokie Norful new CD (Live) on the way to the gym (tracks 1,3,7). I also say psalms 23 during the national anthem and give God thanks after.



If you didn’t play your sport, what sport would you play?

I would play football

What is the worst experienced you’ve had? What did you learn from it?

The worst experience I have had was trying to hang out with the popular crowd and disobeyed God and lost faith. I learned that without faith, it is impossible to please God.

Have you ever had an injury while performing your sport?

I dislocated my thumb when I was younger, twisted my ankle several times, and recently had a severe knee injury.

What do you consider as your greatest accomplishment?

My greatest accomplishment was receiving a full scholarship and becoming a Christian.



What is your most memorable moment? Why?

My most memorable moment was when my brother, who was in Iraq, came back home and watched me play for the first time in 3 years. I had my season high with 25 points.

How has your sport helped you become who you are today?

My sport has made me a better man and a harder worker. It has also created opportunities for me to meet multiple people around the world and compete against the best.

How has your family reacted to all of your sporting success?

My family has been so proud of me from the way I have grown up and overcame obstacles in my basketball career.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I like listening to gospel music and relaxing

My dad because he is greatest critic and keep me level headed

My major is human development and I chose it because I want to be a coach

Outside of your sport, what are your visions/goals in life?

I want to be an inspiration to young men that you can be successful doing the right thing. I want to be successful as a man in life and have peace.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I see myself in the NBA, beautiful Christian family in 5 years

My thoughts are I thank God for what he is doing and I appreciate what he is doing.

What advice do you have to anyone reading your story?

The advice I have for anyone is that when things gets bad or you feel that everything is going wrong, try to remember that without the test, there is no testimony. You have to go through something in order for God to bring you out of something. Do not stress because God will not put more on you that you can bear.

What will you continue to Strive4?


I will strive to be the best man I can be everyday and make sure God light shine in me. When people see or meet me, I want them to see him, and not me.
