How often do you hear of 4 student-athletes/friends starting up their own clothing line? Right, my point exactly, not too often! I'm writing this article to introduce you all to something very creative, unique, and upcoming.
Fresh by Fortune is a clothing line that was started in July of 2010 by Calvin Taylor, 23 (President), Willie Dies, 23 (Vice President), Josh Dies, 23 (Logistics Manager), and Blaise Meeker, 23 (Treasurer). All current/former students of Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.
Calvin graduated from KSU in December 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and double minor in Marketing and Entrepreneurship. Calvin also lettered 3 years in football for the golden flashes as a safety. Willie and Josh are both currently attending Kent State and are majoring in Business Management. Blaise graduated in May 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management, and will be attending The University of Akron for Law School this upcoming Fall.
The basis of FBF (Fresh by Fortune) is 2 uniquely designed labels under the Fresh By Fortune Company name. The 2 lines are "Fresh Label" and "Fortune Label". Fresh Label consists of urban street wear such as T-shirts, Hats, Hoodies, and more. Fortune Label is the more upscale line which includes apparel such as polos, button ups, and sweaters; something that can be fashionable anywhere from a board meeting, to a night club.
Fresh by Fortune will be releasing their summer line on the first of next month (May 1, 2011) which can be seen on their official website (http://www.FreshbyFortuneClothing.com). This will consist of items for both Men and Women including shirts, hoodies, polos, hats, shoes, necklaces, braclets, and more.
To promote their summer line, they will be having a fashion show and Travis Porter concert in collaboration with Chuck Lew Ent. on April 22, 2011 at the Sky Lounge on Market St. in Akron, OH. The event will consist of a couple opening acts, the FBF fashion show, and then Travis Porter will come on stage and perform. Tickets for the event are $20 for general admission and $35 for VIP.
