On your sport…

How long have you played? What inspired you to play?

I’ve played organized hockey since I was 8 years old. My dad introduced me to the game and I’ve always loved it.



Where is your favorite place to play?

Our home rink at NMU, the Berry Events Center; also in my hometown.

What is your favorite number? Why?

14 and 15 are my favorite numbers; I’ve always worn one of those two numbers throughout my career.



Who is the best player you’ve played WITH and AGAINST?

Tyler Bozak of the Toronto Maple Leafs is the best player I have played with, Mitch Fadden of the Norfolk Admirals is the best player I have played against.

Do you have a pre-game ritual? If so, what is it?

I have a whole game day routine; I eat all the same meals, have a nap, and go through the same order of my preparation at the rink for every game.

What made you choose your school?

I chose NMU because of the winning history and its reputation for sending players on to play professionally.



If you didn’t play your sport, what sport would you play?

Baseball

What is the worst experienced you’ve had? What did you learn from it?

Being injured and not being able to play. I learned that you can’t get too low and always have to keep a positive attitude.

Have you ever had an injury while performing your sport?

I’ve been pretty lucky and haven’t had too many injuries, but I’ve had a broken ankle and a few high ankle sprains.

What do you consider as your greatest accomplishment?

Earning a NCAA division 1 scholarship.



What is your most memorable moment? Why?

Winning the regular season league title in my final year of junior. It was special because we were such a close team and not many people wanted to see us do it.

How has your sport helped you become who you are today?

Hockey has given me the opportunity to live a healthy and active lifestyle, gain an education, travel, and most importantly meet countless friends.

How has your family reacted to all of your sporting success?

They are very proud of my accomplishments and continue to support me

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Hanging out with my teammates, relaxing.

I have a sense of humor, I’m a big music fan, and I live two doors down from Mylan Murphy.

My mom and dad. They are amazing people and have made so many opportunities available to me.

Friends and family.

Is there anything that you regret or would take back in your life?

I wouldn’t change a thing.

Outside of your sport, what are your visions/goals in life?

To live happy and healthy, enjoy lots of experiences.

Playing hockey professionally.

How do you feel about being the Dorm Rumor?

I feel great! It’s an honor.

What are your thoughts about Mylan Murphy?

Mylan is an amazing young man. I believe he is going to be an extremely successful person because of his drive, focus, and people skills. He is a great friend and neighbor in the Payne Hall dorms!

Stay focused and committed to your goals.

My dream of playing pro hockey.
